In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, the Rainmaker made it clear that his next goal is the AEW World Championship, signaling his intentions to move from mid-card gold to AEWs top prize as he enters his third year with the company.
Okada lost the AEW Continental Championship to Jon Moxley at AEW Worlds End in the tournament finals, but remains AEW International Champion. He also held the AEW Unified Championship, further cementing his dominance across multiple title scenes.
While he hasnt wrestled on AEW TV since the loss to Moxley, Okada did return to the ring in a high-profile boutfacing Hiroshi Tanahashi in Tanahashis retirement match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 earlier this month.
