NXT is reportedly reeling after WWEs main roster swooped in and called up multiple stars without warning leaving the developmental brand blindsided and scrambling.
According to Self Made Pro during a recent Self Made Session, the wave of talent call-ups came fast and furious, catching the NXT system off guard. He broke down the internal state of confusion brewing behind the scenes at WWE.
This wasnt just a case of normal promotions these were stars central to NXTs current direction, some holding gold and main-eventing shows. The mass movement apparently happened without the developmental brand being looped in.
The miscommunication ran so deep that even long-term creative plans were affected. According to Self Made, NXT believed it would be able to retain dual access to Oba Femi and JeVon Evans letting them work both brands until WrestleMania 42 weekend. That agreement now seems to have been abruptly tossed aside.
Instead of a shared-use approach, the talent were pulled completely with no contingency plan to replace them in ongoing NXT storylines. It was noted this is not just a logistical slip-up its a breakdown in WWEs developmental pipeline.
The abrupt nature of these call-ups could leave NXT struggling to refill top-tier roles with little notice. He ended by reiterating just how spontaneous the move felt, even to those closest to the product:
With Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Jordynne Grace, and JeVon Evans all becoming main roster stars, NXT is now scrambling to fill the vacuum left by these abrupt departures. Its clear that WWEs internal coordination may be in need of serious repair.
Are these sudden call-ups a sign of bigger structural issues in WWEs developmental system? Or just growing pains as stars rise faster than expected? Sound off below and share your thoughts.
