Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have elevated men's tennis to extraordinary heights.

While praising them, Patrick Mouratoglou wishesto see someone matching their level and creating the trio.

The Spaniard and the Italian have left everyone behind in the previous two years, taking all eight Major titles and making world no. 3 Alexander Zverev look like a competitor from some other league.

Mouratoglou would love to see another player in contention for notable titles, like we had for years when the Big 3 rules our sport like no one before them. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic pushed one another beyond perceived limits.

They created a competitive ecosystem where every Major felt unpredictable, emotional and historically charged. It's true they they gave away only a couple of titles during their incredible span.

However, we could expect brilliant battles already from the semi-final, which is not the case today. Alcaraz and Sinner reached three consecutive Major finals on three surfaces this season, achieving what no one did before.

Their consistency and ability to rise in decisive moments have left the rest of the Tour chasing shadows. What's missing is not quality, as we can not expect anything higher, but contrast.

A third rival capable of disrupting their dominance would transform the current landscape from a duel into an era-defining battle. Greatness flourishes most when champions are forced to share the stage.

Still, this remainsin the areaof speculation until some of their closest rivals bring their game to a much higher, career-changing level. At the moment, no one is capable of doing that, but let's see what 2026 brings.

Bridging the gap to Carlos and Jannik requires more than flashes of brilliance. It's about consistency, fearless mentality and the ability to challenge them on the sport's biggest stages.

No one did that in 2024 and 2025. Now, the sport waits to see who dares to rise and stand between them. Alcaraz and Sinner are the favorites at the upcoming Australian Open.

The Italian is a two-time defending champion, while the Spaniard seeks a Career Grand Slam, hoping to achieve that at stunning 22 years.

"I would like to see a third player between Carlos and Jannik, because they are too dominant. We were so excited by the trio of Novak, Roger, and Rafa, which was incredible.

If we could have the same thing, it would be fantastic," Patrick Mouratoglou said.
