Eric Bischoff Says Hes Thankful He Had Nothing to Do with Disastrous nWo Silver Reboot

During a recent 83 Weeks episode, Conrad Thompson took Bischoff through the wild post-Starrcade Nitro a chaotic episode that featured Bret Hart, Goldberg, Jeff Jarrett, Roddy Piper, and a reformation of the nWo under the Silver banner. None of it made sense, and Bischoffs reaction said it all.

The episode saw Bret Hart retain the title in confusing fashion, Roddy Piper counting a fall while half-unconscious, and Jeff Jarrett delivering a guitar shot to a dazed Piper just to finish the segment. It was overbooked beyond belief and the newly reformed nWo Silver never went anywhere because Goldberg injured himself days later by punching through a limo window. Listening to the rundown, Bischoff was visibly stunned.

And then came the real takeaway Bischoff wasnt mad they used his idea. He was just grateful he wasnt involved.

While he admitted that he had made mistakes with the nWo during his own time running WCW, nothing compared to the post-Starrcade disaster.

But this wasnt about defending his legacy it was about calling out just how far off the rails WCW had gone after his exit. Bischoff said the segment failed because there was no leadership, no accountability, and too many egos trying to book something without any sense of structure.

Eric Bischoff has never shied away from owning his creative misfires, but when it comes to the nWo Silver revival, he made one thing clear he was happy to be on the sidelines.
