Jennifer Brady is set to return to action following a two-year absence and make her first Australian Open appearance since finishing as runner-up in Melbourne in 2021.
The 30-year-old American, who reached her first Grand Slam final at the 2021 Australian Open, has been handed some brutal luck since.
Shortly after losing the final at Melbourne Park to Naomi Osaka, Brady started experiencing serious foot issues. Sadly for the American, it soon went from bad to worse as it also led to a right knee injury - she shut down her 2021 season in August - and had surgically addressed her knee issue in early 2022.

After being out for two years, the former world No. 13 launched her comeback in July 2023, but appeared in only six tournaments before picking up another knee injury and having surgery in January 2024.
Brady enters the Australian Open qualifying event
Now, after not playing since October 2023, the American is set to compete in the Australian Open qualifying event after using her protected ranking to enter the tournament. For the 30-year-old, this will be fourth appearance at Melbourne Park but also the first one since her 2021 runner-up finish.
Meanwhile, while sidelined, the one-time WTA champion joined forces with fellow American players Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys and Desirae Krawczyk to start a tennis podcast called "The Player's Box."
Hopefully, Brady can stay healthy when she returns and give herself a chance to get back to where she once was.
