Harley Cameron may be shining as AEW Womens Tag Team Champion today, but her path nearly took a very different turnone that almost landed her in WWE.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Cameron revealed that before signing with AEW, she had serious discussions with WWE and even received support from the company early in her wrestling journey.

Cameron was never formally signed by WWE, but they helped facilitate her training at Flatbacks Wrestling School, run by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears. She explained that during that time, WWE went through internal restructuring, which may have impacted the momentum of their interest.

In the meantime, AEW came callingand quickly took notice of her potential.

Cameron reflected on how close she came to heading down a completely different path:

Now thriving in AEW and part of a successful tag team with Willow Nightingale, Cameron credits the companyand Tony Khan specificallyfor taking a chance on her despite her limited in-ring experience.
