Diamond Dallas Page sees something familiar in LA Knightand hes not shy about it.
During a conversation on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, DDP was asked about the comparisons fans are making between his late-blooming WCW run and LA Knights rise to superstardom in WWE at age 43. DDP didnt just agree with the comparisonhe endorsed it with full confidence and admiration.
He dismissed critics who claim Knight is a copycat, stating clearly that LA Knight is the product of everything he grew up loving about wrestlingnot a cheap imitation.
DDP even sent Knight a story comparing their careers and was blown away that both of them hit their career peaks at the exact same age. Page was 43 when he won his first WCW World Title. Knight is currently 43 and still climbing.
Page also recalled how proud he was to see Knight get a world title shot and a major spot in the Royal Rumble.
DDPs endorsement is more than a passing nodits a full-circle torch pass. He knows exactly what its like to defy the odds later in life and build momentum brick by brick. And he sees that same underdog-turned-main-event energy in LA Knight.
While the wrestling world continues to argue over who LA Knight reminds them of, DDP sees the bigger picture. He sees a star ready to break throughjust like he once did. Whether Knight becomes a world champion remains to be seen, but if DDP had the book? That title run would already be in motion.
