Chad Gable is almost backand WWE already knows where and how they want to use him: as a major heel in AAA under the El Grande Americano mask.
After spending months recovering from shoulder surgery, Gable is expected to return very soon. According to Self Made Pro, WWE is preparing to send Gable back into AAA to reclaim the El Grande Americano persona as the top heel in the promotion. This would explain why Ludwig Kaisers version of the character turned babyface during the AAA Guerra de Titanes event.
The update follows earlier reports from PWInsider that Gable was expected at the WWE Performance Center in late November 2025 to resume in-ring training. His recovery has been underway since undergoing shoulder surgery on July 1.
Gable was last seen on WWE TV back in June 2025, where he was written off TV following an armbreaker spot from Pentaa storyline exit that covered for his legitimate injury.
At the time, Gable had been building up to a mask vs. mask match at SummerSlam against Penta under the El Grande Americano gimmick. Once the injury forced him off the card, WWE quietly passed the mask to Ludwig Kaiser, who portrayed the character at WWE live events and AAA shows.
But at AAAs Guerra de Titanes, Kaisers version of El Grande Americano officially turned babyfacesetting the stage for Gable to take back the gimmick and launch into a new chapter as a top heel.
Chad Gables return as a heel could give the El Grande Americano persona a whole new lifeand WWE seems ready to capitalize on the momentum both in AAA and on its own programming.
