Novak Djokovic is practicing in Dubai ahead of the start of next season.
The Serbian legend who ended a positive 2025 by lifting two trophies (in Geneva and Athens) always has the goal of winning another Grand Slam title in mind and is willing to do anything to become the oldest player ever to achieve this feat.
The former world number 1 is working to reduce the number of injuries that have affected him in the last two seasons and cannot be underestimated, especially in the most prestigious tournaments on the calendar. It is no coincidence that the 38-year-old from Belgrade has reached the semifinals in all the Majors this year, proving that he is only inferior to Italian Jannik Sinner and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz when he is really motivated.
Djokovic still faces time
Nole who has added a new member to his team will begin his 2026 by participating in the Adelaide ATP 250, scheduled for January 12-17. The next day the Australian Open will begin, where he will hunt for the eleventh triumph in his amazing career. The 24-time Grand Slam champion made history at Melbourne Park, but has not triumphed there since 2023 and has stopped in the semifinals in the last two editions.
In a recent interview with famous magazine 'Championat', former Russian star Nadia Petrova confessed that Djokovic could suffer a further decline next year: "If you consider the age of the players who are currently in the Top 10 of the ATP rankings, the average is around 23 years old. The only exceptions are Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz, while Novak has as many as 38. I think young stars like Joao Fonseca, Jakub Mensik, Arthur Fils and Learner Tien can force the Serbian legend to leave the Top 10 next season."
Novak has nothing more to prove, having broken any record and having remained the last huge exponent of his generation. However, his desire to continue competing is so intense that it pushes him to give his best against all odds.
