
World no. 44 Grigor Dimitrov will kick off the 2026 campaign with a completely new team!
The Bulgarian parted ways with Jamie Delgado a couple od weeks ago. Now, he announced the end of his relationship with Daniel Vallverdu as well.
The veteran had been working with Vallverdu since 2016 in two stints. They stayed together until 2019 before joining forces again in 2022. Grigor and Daniel achieved a lot together, entering the top-3 in 2017.

Dimitrov will start the new season in Brisbane, and we will see how his coaching box will look like Down Under. The Bulgarian finished the 2024 season in the top-10, achieving that after years and generating a boost ahead of 2025.
Grigor reached the Brisbane semi-final before losing ground. He struggled with physical setbacks and suffered early losses before raising his level in Indian Wells and Miami.
He reached the last four in Florida, falling to Novak Djokovic in straight sets. The Bulgarian advanced into the last eight in Monte Carlo before experiencing a double bagel against Alex de Minaur.
Dimitrov did not play between Roland Garros and Wimbledon. He reached the last 16 on his beloved grass and arranged the clash against Jannik Sinner in front of Roger Federer.

The veteran claimed the opening two sets before suffering a shoulder injury that forced him to retire in tears at 2-2 in the third set. Grigor sustained a pectoral muscleinjury and underwent surgery.
He stayed away from the court for nearly four months, missing the US Open and ending his brilliant streak at Majors. Dimitrov defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first match.
However, he felt discomfort in his troubled shoulder and withdrew ahead of the next round. This, Grigor ended his season and started preparation for 2026.
