The field is officially set for the WWE Speed Championship Tournament and a new name is about to make a debut.
WWE has revealed the full bracket for the upcoming tournament to determine the next challenger for Jasper Troys WWE Speed Title. The reveal came after Troy met with NXT GM Ava on the latest episode of NXT, where the tournament was first announced.
The opening round features two major matchups. First, recently signed WWE ID talent Eli Knight will make his NXT television debut against Tavion Heights. Knight was officially introduced as a WWE ID recruit back in October during Evolve and has already competed in multiple matches on that show, including bouts against Sean Legacy and Its GAL.
The second opening-round match features Andre Chase squaring off with Lexis King setting up a potential mix of experience and style clashes in the semifinals.
Whoever wins the mini-tournament will earn a shot at Jasper Troy, who captured the Speed Title last month by defeating El Grande Americano. Troy has quickly become one of NXTs most unique personalities, and now a new challenger will be gunning for his belt.
The final round is set to take place following these opening matchups, with the Speed Championship bout scheduled for a future episode.
