While McDonagh didnt specify the exact injury, his message makes it clear hes been pushing through pain for the past few months before deciding to finally hit pause. The image of his casted hand suggests this could be a hand or wrist-related surgery.
The last time McDonagh competed in the ring was on the November 24, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw, where he faced Rey Mysterio in singles competition and lost in the end.
McDonaghs decision to step away for surgery shows hes thinking long-term and hopefully, it means well see a healthier, more dangerous version of him when he does come back.
