Ben Shelton is one of those tennis players who has truly achieved great success, showing that he believes in himself from day one. Finishing the season as the 9th player on the ATP rankings, Shelton achieved his goal, but it seems that he is still hungry for success and hopes that he can make even bigger strides next year.

The brightest moment of his season was his victory at the ATP Masters 1000 in Canada, but the American does not want to stop there.

Ben Shelton answered an interesting question in an interview with Noah Christian Dion.

"Especially being at UF (University of Florida) with your father and winning the national championship for college, and then being so early on the breakthrough for the ATP Tour, how are you able to maintain that pressure, being able to put on some great results and now being top five in the world?

From the first day of his career, he has shown how ambitious he is and that there are no obstacles he cannot overcome. Although his everyday life is full of obligations, Shelton manages to balance different priorities and build a great story on the tennis scene.

The American tennis player emphasizes that he wants to be an example for children who are just starting to practice tennis and who want to become professionals one day.

"Yeah, I mean its been a cool journey for me, a crazy journey. You know, a lot of tennis players dont go to college, so I guess my path was a little different.

And I think Im a testament that theres no one path or one way to the top of the sport. Its an ongoing process. Im just trying to get better every day. This is a sport that you get left behind if you dont keep improving.

Im glad that, or hope that I can inspire kids who are going to college or who are in college that they can make it as pros as well.- he continued.

Ben Shelton's goals

Ben Shelton has the ambition and desire to achieve even greater results next year and reach the heights he dreamed of as a kid.

This season has really shown that he can compete with a lot of quality tennis players, and there is no doubt that he will pose a problem for his opponents in the next season as well.

Ending the season with 40 wins and 24 losses is certainly a positive thing for a young tennis player who had the opportunity to fight against the best on the tennis scene. Grand Slam tournaments will be his priority, but there is no doubt he will remain equally motivated and strive to lift trophies at other events.
