There has been a lot of talk about the future of golf, especially the PGA Tour, ever since Brian Rolapp became the new CEO of the PGA Tour. Before the start of the Hero World Challenge, Brian Rolapp and Tiger Woods sat down with 20 tournament participants to discuss the future of the PGA Tour.
Jordan Spieth is one of the golfers who attended this conversation, saying that Brian and Tiger had great answers.
Jordan Spieth drew only positive impressions after everything, stressing that Rolapp is ready to do everything in order for the PGA Tour to take important steps and further strengthen its place in the world of golf. However, they will take into account the fans, who are certainly the basis of the story, and based on various opinions, try to create a product that can satisfy all participants.
"Brian and Tiger did a great job answering questions on stuff," Spieth told the publication.
"It seemed they were laying out how they plan on making our product better, like the different categories to do so, and you could tell they have a little further down the line than what they've told us, but they're giving us kind of (a rough sketch).
"They're still a lot of things in consideration, so they're gonna try to make sure they get it right, and then they're gonna pass it down to (the player advisory council) to pass it back up (to the board of directors), make sure everybody's happy, and they're using the networks and partners that we have on the media side now and some potential new players and asking them how to make it better as well as our sponsors, and that should be a good representation of what the fans want, too."
Rolapp's focus
Spieth revealed that Rolapp has also focused on lesser-known faces on the PGA Tour, meaning his focus won't just be on the top players. Brian plans to make certain adjustments to ensure that everyone gets a chance, and that lower-ranked golfers also get the opportunities they need to improve.
