WWE is running with full steam ahead with Survivor Series: WarGames this Saturday in San Diego. Petco Park will also see the Mens WarGames match with Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso versus Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. That was an interesting lineup to see put together on television.
Thunder Rosa never got a run in WWE, but shes watching the product. The former AEW Womens World Champion also knows that Survivor Series: WarGames is coming this Saturday.
During an appearance on the Busted Open podcast, Thunder Rosa spoke openly about WWEs build for the mens WarGames match at Survivor Series 2025. The comments came as the show shifted from discussing the womens match to the mens lineup.
The idea that WWE hasnt properly built this storyline came up. Thunder Rosa said that was her biggest point of criticism when she thinks of the match. The star power is there, but the storyline reasoning for the match just isnt.
Thunder Rosa then explained what she believes motivated WWEs approach to the match, as she pointed to the need for major names to move tickets. The card is full of big names, which is what WWE needs, but there is no focal angle that brings the match together. Tickets are expensive, so the card is naturally going to be loaded.
Thunder Rosa finished with a direct critique of the creative direction. She didnt hold back as she doubled-down on how the storyline just isnt there.
Thunder Rosas remarks place focus not only on the addition of Roman Reigns late in the game, without a real reason from the OTC, but it also speaks on WWEs broader strategy of stacking a card with major names when ticket demand calls for it, even when it comes at the expense of deeper story development.
We will have to see how Survivor Series: WarGames plays out. The storyline is certainly not there like it has been in recent years. Only time will tell if there is any fallout after the big event. With the kind of huge names on the card that WWE has to offer, it will most likely be a cant miss show. Thunder Rosa will probably be watching closely as well.
