Triple Hs sledgehammer has become one of the most iconic props in WWE history, but The Game just revealed that one of the few times it actually hurt someone, it was a gimmick version meant to be harmlessand the victim was none other than The Undertaker.

While giving a personal tour of WWEs new state-of-the-art headquarters on the On Display YouTube series, Triple H reflected on some legendary artifacts, including his infamous weapon of destruction. According to him, the sledgehammer wasnt planned to become part of his personait just happened.

Over the years, WWE made both real and foam versions for different spots, but even the soft props didnt always go to plan. Triple H then told the story of how a gimmick sledgehammer accidentally split open The Undertaker before a WrestleMania match.

Triple H said the plan was to hit Undertaker safely while holding onto the foam part to absorb the blow. But the plan backfiredliterally.

Despite all the high-impact matches and dangerous stunts throughout their storied careers, it turns out a foam hammermeant to keep things safeended up doing the damage. And of all people to eat that hit, it was The Deadman himself.
