New details have emerged following the scary moment on WWE RAW when Penta suffered a painful fall during his The Last Time Is Now tournament match against Solo Sikoa. While the match was stopped early due to what looked like a serious injury, it turns out that nothing about the result actually changed.
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, Solo Sikoa was always scheduled to win the match, injury or not.
Alvarez also noted that when Pentas injury became apparent, WWE commentary quickly adjusted. Wade Barrett called for a commercial break while Joe Tessitore got live updates on-air. The match had originally been set to run twelve minutes, but WWE shut it down at the four-minute mark.
Dave Meltzer chimed in with his own reaction, admitting he was caught off guard by the outcomeuntil he heard the plan was already in place before the injury.
During the match, Penta hit a hurricanrana off the barricade but landed hard on his shoulder, prompting immediate concern from officials. The ref waved it off, and Sikoa advanced in the tournament.
While Penta was reportedly moving fine backstage after the fall, the segment now looks less like a disaster and more like WWE sticking to the scriptjust with a medical curveball thrown in.
Do you think WWE made the right call keeping the result the same, or should they have adjusted the booking after the injury scare? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know where you stand.
