AEW will officially crown the first-ever National Champion at the Full Gear pay-per-view and now Tony Khan has already revealed plans for the title after the event.

While speaking during the AEW Full Gear media call, Tony Khan said hes very excited about introducing the AEW National Championship. He sees it as a chance to build a new tradition where champions can travel across the United States and even face challengers from outside AEW.

Khan also pointed out that no AEW title has ever been defended in Ring of Honor before. That will change when the first National Champion makes their debut defense at ROH Final Battle on December 5 in Columbus, Ohio, marking the first time an AEW championship will be defended on a major ROH show.

So far, the likes of Ricochet, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and more will be competing in the Casino Gauntlet match in order to determine the first-ever AEW National Champion at Full Gear.
