David Otunga isnt holding back. In a new interview with Ariel Helwani, the former WWE Superstar and Harvard-educated lawyer made a bold claim that WWE has stolen his creative ideas before and legally gotten away with it.
While discussing the idea of returning to wrestling, Otunga revealed that hes sitting on a pitch he believes could completely shake up the industry but hes not sharing it publicly, and for good reason.
Otunga went on to describe his dream return not just for a match, but as a character with real staying power. He compared it to someone like Paul Heyman, but with a twist.
He didnt reveal any specifics about the pitch but did tease it was faction-based and unlike anything seen in wrestling before.
Otunga says hes keeping it locked down tight and hinted that its the kind of idea hed only bring out with the right deal and some serious protection.
While Otunga is still open to a return, he clearly hasnt forgotten how the company handled his creative contributions in the past. It also throws a spotlight on how WWE handles intellectual property a topic Otunga is uniquely qualified to speak on.
Do you think David Otunga should bring his idea to AEW, or keep it in the vault until WWE plays fair? Drop your take in the comments and tell us who youd cast in his dream faction.
