Colt Cabana may be backstage at AEW these days, but that doesnt mean its been an easy transition.
In his recent interview on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Cabana revealed that taking on a producer role with AEW has come with emotional baggage even if hes still deeply connected to the business. Cabana opened up about how much performing still means to him, admitting that stepping away from the spotlight has been harder than most realize.
Despite the emotional weight, hes learning to find fulfillment behind the scenes, especially when hes plugged into the action through the headset. Cabana explained how much he enjoys being in the mix during AEW matches, working closely with the truck and the talent.
Colt made it clear that he still feels immersed in wrestling, and producing lets him use his years of knowledge in a new way. But the performer inside him hasnt fully let go.
While Cabanas not front and center on AEW TV, his presence is still being felt just through a different lens. And though hes thriving in his new position, the emotional trade-off is real.
