Iga Swiatek registered her 12th consecutive Billie Jean King Cup after beating Gabriela Lee 6-2 6-0 to seal Poland's victory over Romania and send her country into next year's qualifiers.
On Friday, the six-time Grand Slam champion crushed Elyse Tse 6-0 6-1 in Poland's opening win over New Zealand in Group B in Gorzow.
By beating New Zealand, the Polish side put themselves in a strong position to win Group B and seal a 2026 Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers spot. And on Sunday, it started well for the host nation after Linda Klimovicova defeated Elena Ruxandra Bertea 6-2 6-1.
Next on the court was Swiatek, whose win would have secured Poland's win over Romania. And while the world No. 2 lost her serve twice in the first set, she still easily took the opener after breaking Lee four times. In the second set, the former world No. 1 played even better and completed her win with a bagel.
Swiatek's impressive Billie Jean King Cup record
In 2019, the Polish tennis star was beaten twice in the Billie Jean King Cup. Since then, she has won 12 consecutive matches in the competition and now owns a 14-2 record.
By clinching two wins this past weekend, Swiatek tied Aryna Sabalenka for the most wins in 2025 (63).
The reigning Wimbledon champion's 2025 season is now officially over, and she is set to get some rest before kicking off her preparation for the 2026 season.
