Carlos Alcaraz is making final preparations for the ATP Finals. World no. 2 arrived in Turin and trained with Taylor Fritz, a potential rival in the round-robin stage.
While leaving the court, the young Spaniard cracked a joke with his compatriot, Marcel Granollers. Both players suffered early Paris Masters loss after lifting trophies at Roland Garros earlier this year.
Carlos admitted that Paris at this time of the year is not their thing while keeping his trademark smile. As it appears, the 22-year-old has left the Paris setback behind, focusing on the ATP Finals.
Alcaraz wished for a good run in the French capital that could have secured his year-end no. 1 honor. Instead, he suffered a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 defeat to Cameron Norrie in two hours and 22 minutes in the second round.

The six-time Major winner did not like his strokes even after taking the opening set. The Briton kept his composure and had the upper hand in sets two and three, ending the rival's streak of nine straight ATP finals.
The Spaniard sprayed over 50 unforced errors, struggling to impose his strokes in his least-favorite conditions. Cameron denied four of five break points and kept the pressure on the other side.
Carlos played against seven break points, suffering two breaksand ending on the losing side. Alcaraz lost the ATP throne after Paris and left home to recharge ahead of the ATP Finals.
The Spaniard will enter the elite event as the 2nd seed, having to win matches to keep Jannik Sinner behind in the year-end no. 1 battle. Alcaraz was the semi-finalist in Turin in 2023.

However, he failed to pass the round-robin stage a year ago after losing two matches, something he can not afford next week. Carlos will train with Alexander Zverev on Thursday.
