Carlos Alcaraz arrived in Turin several days before the start of the Nitto ATP Finals, which will take place from 9 to 16 November. The former world No.1 wants to get used to the conditions at the 'Inalpi Arena', knowing that his game struggles more in indoor conditions and that he will need to shine to finish the season at the top of the ATP rankings.
The 22-year-old Spaniard did not exactly shine at the Paris Masters 1000, where he was eliminated by Cameron Norrie already in the second round, unleashing perhaps the worst performance of his entire season. The star from Murcia was really uncomfortable at the 'Dfense Arena' and complained several times about the court, which he called too slow and similar to the red clay of Monte Carlo.
Carlitos practiced with Fritz
The six-time Grand Slam champion who was overtaken by his huge rival Jannik Sinner as No.1 (after the Italian lifted the trophy in the French capital) practiced hard along with his entire team before arriving in Turin yesterday. He wasted no time and immediately had his first practice session to try the course, playing for two hours with the American ace Taylor Fritz (finalist in this event last year).

Under the watchful eye of his two coachesJuan Carlos Ferrero and Samuel Lopez, the world number 2 also made a practice set with Fritz and was ahead 6-3 4-2 at the time of the interruption.
In his two appearances at the ATP Finals, Carlitos reached the semifinals in 2023 as his best result. In the last edition - however - his run had already ended in the round robin due to the defeats suffered against Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev. In reality, he had shown up in Turin in precarious conditions in 2024 due to a flu virus that had struck him in the days before the start of the tournament.
