Brad Maddoxs sudden WWE exit in 2015 has long left fans scratching their heads, but now the real reason for his firing has finally been confirmedand it all came down to one word that Vince McMahon couldnt stand.

On a recent episode of Something to Wrestle, WWE Hall of Famer JBL explained that Maddox was let go immediately after using the word pricks to describe fans during a pre-show promo. It wasnt part of a controversial storyline or backstage politicsjust one slip of the tongue that triggered McMahons zero-tolerance policy for what he considered classless language.

JBL even shared that he himself had been reprimanded for using the same word during commentary.

Brad Maddox joined WWE in 2010 and worked his way up through Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) before debuting on the main roster in 2012 as a referee. He made a splash at Hell in a Cell that year by low-blowing Ryback, helping CM Punk retain the WWE Championship. That moment launched him into the spotlight, eventually landing him the role of Raw General Manager.

For a while, Maddox was seen as someone Vince McMahon believed inhe had on-screen authority power, regular TV time, and was even considered a long-term investment by the company. But one poorly chosen word brought it all crashing down.
