The U.S. team has strong ambitions for the next Ryder Cup, which will be played at Adare Manor in 2027. After a disappointing performance this year, it is clear that certain changes must be made to help the U.S. team finally get back on its feet.

In the wake of recent events, a number of important U.S. golf figures have spoken out against a number of decisions, not just those of the PGA of America. The decision to appoint Keegan Bradley as captain has not been met with particularly positive reactions, nor have his decisions this year.

Speaking on the Golf Channel, Shane Ryan believes that the PGA of America made the wrong move by appointing Keegan Bradley. However, he also blames this year's U.S. Ryder Cup captain himself, stressing that he should not have taken the job.

His mistakes not only caused public backlash, but are also, in Ryan's opinion, the reason why the U.S. team did not achieve success this year.

Heres the thing, I dont blame Keegan Bradley for being offered the job. That was a bad mistake, I thought, the PGA of America made and an obvious one, he said, as reported by Golfing Gazette.

He didnt have any experience, he wasnt ready for the role. He was going to be playing the whole time which was going to detract from any leadership thing.

But I do blame him for taking the job. He shouldnt have done that.

I do blame him for not listening maybe to the stats guys, that was the impression I got. I do blame him for making some of the same mistakes over and over again.

I blame him for making it so much about himself that after the Presidents Cup, he did this big speech about how theyre going to go to Bethpage and kick Europes you know whats. Gave them bulletin board material."

PGA of America moves

Ryan went on to say that a decision to bring Keegan Bradley back as captain would be disappointing and would spark public outrage. He sees it as the worst option and believes there are plenty of better candidates who can help the U.S. team, not just at this event, but in the long run.

The PGA of America will be on the move, aware that if it makes the wrong decision, it could spark public outrage once again.
