Dwayne The Rock Johnson is officially joining another major Disney franchisethis time lending his voice to Zootopia 2.
Disney dropped the news in the final international trailer for the animated sequel, confirming that the global box office megastar will play a new character named Zeke.
Johnsons role? A dik-dik (yes, thats a real animal) whos described as accident-prone and finds himself caught in a musical disaster during a high-speed chase led by Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The sequel is slated to hit theaters worldwide on November 26.
Zeke may be a small creature, but hes voiced by one of the biggest names in entertainment. This marks yet another collaboration between Johnson and Disney, adding to his roles in Jungle Cruise and Moana. Hes not the only familiar name in the cast eitherDisney confirmed that Moana castmates Aulii Cravalho, Rachel House, and David Fane also make cameo appearances.
Jared Bush, who serves as both writer and director of Zootopia 2, explained why Johnson and the others were natural fits for this world:
The sequel picks up with Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) chasing a mysterious reptile who turns the entire city upside down. The official synopsis promises that the two detectives must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town as their dynamic faces its toughest test yet.
Johnson is keeping his Disney slate full. Hes currently filming the live-action remake of Moana, set to drop in 2026, and hes also attached to Lizard Music, where hell play a character called Chicken Manbecause of course he is.
Whether its a jungle cruise, a musical dik-dik, or a man dressed as a chicken, The Rock continues to expand his reach in the world of family entertainment. And Zeke? He might just steal the show.
