Serena Williams' childhood coach Rick Macci says Joao Fonseca has "a more trending complete game with conviction" than any other talented player in the men's game, and the American coach is tipping the Brazilian teenage sensation to soon reach the top-10 and even form "a new Big Three" with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Last week was a special one for world No. 46 Fonseca, who celebrated his maiden ATP triumph after making it all the way at the ATP 500 tournament in Basel. En route to lifting the title, the Brazilian - who just turned 19 in August - defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Denis Shapovalov, Jaume Munar and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the final 6-3 6-4.

"The Brazilian Blaster is a generational talent as I said two years ago and will be right there someday with the Italian Flamethrower and Spanish Magician and create a new big three," the 70-year-old American coach wrote on X.

In a follow-up post, Williams' childhood coach dropped an even bigger praise on the 19-year-old Brazilian.

"Fonseca has a more trending complete game with conviction than any up and coming player. Top 10 is around the bend and the Brazilian Blaster will get there faster and someday be in there with the two Masters," Macci added.

The reigning Basel champion has an aggressive game and his forehand is already regarded as one of the most powerful in men's tennis.

Meanwhile, Fonseca is already at the Paris Masters, where he plays against Shapovalov in the first round.
