For weeks, there have been talks about players who could join LIV Golf. This is the part of the season where the Saudi Backed Tour is most active on the golf scene with the goal of attracting the big names of the PGA Tour. Although it has been speculated for weeks, it seems that LIV still has no concrete moves and has not been able to lure some of the players.
One of the names most often associated with LIV is Aldrich Potgieter, who withdrew from the Bank of Utah Championship due to illness. Through social media, the famous golfer pointed out that he had food poisoning and that he needs a period of recovery, thanking for the support.
"Hey everyone, just wanted to clear things up since I've been getting a lot of messages. I had to withdraw after Round 1 because I came down with some pretty bad food poisoning (or a stomach bug)," he wrote. "Nothing serious, just need some rest to recover. Appreciate all the messages and support."

The 21-year-old excelled on the PGA Tour as a rookie, even picking up his first win at the Rocket Classic.
Potgieter will play on the PGA Tour for the next two years after his Rocket Classic win.
Potgieter and LIV
Well-known media reported in recent weeks that the young golfer could join the Saudi project. However, apparently, Potgieter has no such intentions, wanting to build his career on the PGA Tour.
History has taught us that we can never be completely sure of certain things, considering that some players previously rejected the possibility of joining LIV, and not long after they joined this project.
Regardless of the financial power of the Saudi Tour, on the other hand, it is clear that the players cannot compete in the Majors, which is certainly a huge minus.
