Alexander Bublik admits he would love to reach the top-10 ranking and be remembered as a top-10 player once he retires, but also highlights it is up to him to come up with the goods in the final part of 2025.
Following a horrendous start to 2025, Bublik plummeted to No. 82 in early March. Since then, the Kazakh has improved 66 spots on the ATP rankings and he currently sits at a career-high ranking of No. 16 in the world. If you wonder how it happened, the 28-year-old won the ATP 500 tournament in Halle, as well as claimed titles at the ATP 250-level events in Gstaad and Hangzhou. He was also a French Open quarterfinalist.

This week, Bublik is competing at the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna, where he beat Alejandro Tabilo in his opener and plays against either Francisco Cerundolo or Alex Michelsen in the round-of-16. This week, the Kazakh isn't defending any points. And since he also lost in the Paris Masters second round last year, he basically won't have any points to defend in the French capital as wlel.
Bublik: It will be great for my history if I can touch the top-10
I did it two times in two years so for me thats around the level Im playing maybe in between 15 and 30. It depends on the schedule and injuries and luck in a way. If I can touch the top-10 thats going to be great for my history and I have a chance to do that, I believe, because I dont have many points to defend. Now its up to me if Im going to perform in the correct way, if Im going to use the chance or if I am going to blow it," the 28-year-old admitted to Sky Sports.

Bublik currently has 2,430 ranking points, while 10th-ranked Holger Rune has 3,180 points. One thing is for sure - winning Vienna and collecting 500 ranking points this week would be a major boost for the Kazakh's chances of making the top-10 before the year ends.
