It looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin wont be stomping a mudhole at WrestleMania 42at least, not according to anyone behind the scenes right now.
The WWE Hall of Famer lit up AT&T Stadium back at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 when he stunned Kevin Owens and walked out with a win in a No Holds Barred match. That was his first match since facing The Rock at WrestleMania XIX in 2003, and ever since that Texas return, speculation has swirled about whether hed do it again.
But during a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp shut down the idea that Austins comeback is currently in the works for the Las Vegas show in 2026.
That being said, Austin hasnt ruled it out completely. Sapp noted that Austin made some comments at WrestleMania 41 that have kept fans talking.
So far, WWE isnt moving on anything involving the Texas Rattlesnakedespite what fans may want. If anything changes, expect the internet to blow up in record time.
Would you want to see Stone Cold lace up the boots again for WrestleMania 42? Or should his last match against Kevin Owens remain the perfect sendoff? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
