Tim Henman says his admiration for Carlos Alcaraz recently went to another level after spending some time around the 22-year-old and seeing what kind of person he was.

This year, Alcaraz made his second Laver Cup appearance in San Francisco. There, the world No. 1 represented Team Europe and went 1-1 in singles after losing to Taylor Fritz and beating Francisco Cerundolo. The Spanish tennis star also competed in doubles, winning both of his doubles matches with Jakub Mensik and Casper Ruud.

Henman, who has been working as a tennis analyst for quite some time, was also in San Francisco this year. And during his stay, the former six-time Grand Slam champion got a chance to get to know the 22-year-old Spaniard off the court.

Henman: Alcaraz's attitude, energy, values were absolutely first class

I spent some time with him at the Laver Cup and I could not have been more impressed with him not only as a player but as a person. His attitude, his energy, his values on and off the court were absolutely first class. He has really up his level. You look at the way Alcarazs game has developed and its absolutely phenomenal," the former British tennis star told Tennis365.

Whenever Alcaraz is on the court, he brings a lot of energy into his matches but also always wears a smile. And it didn't take long before he became a fan favorite wherever he went and is widely considered one of the most charismatic players in the game.

When asked in one of his interviews how he was able to smile on the court in almost every situation, the 22-year-old explained that by just becoming a pro tennis player, he had achieved his biggest dream.

At 22, Alcaraz's resume is already highly impressive since he has six Grand Slams and has spent 42 weeks as the world No. 1.

The Spanish tennis star is currently in Riyadh, where he is set to clash against Jannik Sinner in the Six Kings Slam final.
