Plans can always change in WWE, even if it seems that the company is not going to go another direction. With Survivor Series coming up, it appears that one star was still a part of the plan despite their on-screen absence.

Austin Theorys status with WWE remains uncertain following recent reports about his absence from programming. Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful Select that internal sources confirmed Austin Theory was considered for Survivor Series WarGames as an option at one point.

Theory has been out of action for the past three months, and WWE quickly shifted focus to Grayson Waller in his absence. Since Austin Theory has not wrestled a match on RAW in five months and has only appeared in five televised main roster matches on RAW or SmackDown this year, it was recently reported that he was removed from the roster. WWE also broke him and Grayson Waller up on-screen.

Austin Theory has been recovering from an injury, and with Seth Rollins also sidelined, WWEs plans for upcoming storylines could change. We will have to see what happens in this situation.

Early plans for WWE Survivor Series WarGames include two major team matches. For the mens WarGames match, the current direction has CM Punk teaming with Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and Jey Uso, with a fifth partner yet to be decided. Jimmy Uso and LA Knight are being considered for the final spot. They were expected to face The Vision, made up of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, and Austin Theory.

For the womens WarGames match, the reported planned babyface team includes AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Iyo Sky, who would face Becky Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend. The event is also expected to feature Dominik Mysterio defending the Intercontinental Championship against John Cena.

WWE Survivor Series 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Petco Park in San Diego, California. It will be the first time the event takes place in a stadium, and Ringside News will have coverage of whatever happens that night.
