Seth Rollins shoulder injury is becoming more than just a storyline twist it might be serious enough to take him out of action entirely.
According to PWInsider Elite, there are people within WWE who now believe Rollins could be on the road to shoulder or rotator cuff surgery. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the speculation comes on the heels of his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth and the brutal follow-up attack by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on RAW. That segment raised a lot of eyebrows, and now its clear why.
A high-ranking WWE executive confirmed that Rollins is definitely injured, but added that the full extent of the damage is still unknown. No final decision has been made about whether Rollins will require surgery, or if hell be forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship.
Some backstage are taking a wait-and-see approach, reminding others how Rollins previously misled people about his knee condition earlier this summer. That situation reportedly caused backstage morale issues, and WWE officials arent eager to jump the gun this time around.
Still, others inside the company believe the injury is legit and that the abrupt storyline shift with Breakker and Reed wouldnt have happened otherwise. The timing couldnt be worse, with WWE building toward money matches featuring Rollins against CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Now, both of those plans appear to be shelved.
Theres at least one silver lining. Sources indicate that WWE could be using this as a chance to push Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed under the guidance of Paul Heyman, potentially shaking up the main event scene with some fresh energy while Rollins recovers.
Right now, WWE is walking a fine line and until an official update comes down, the status of the World Heavyweight Title remains in limbo.
Do you think Seth Rollins should push through the injury or step away and get surgery? If he vacates the title, who should take his spot at the top of RAW? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
