Karolna Plkov, a 33-year-old Czech, ended her season after only two Challenger tournaments. The experienced tennis player was absent from the court for more than a year due to physical complications, which led to two surgeries on her left ankle in September of last year.

Although she was focused and determined to return to the courts as soon as possible, it can be said that Plkov was simply unlucky.

The famous tennis player returned to the courts on September 15, performing at one of the Challenger tournaments. Her return was really interesting, as she won the first match. However, in the second tournament she lost to Polina Iatcenko.

While she had the opportunity to find success in the coming weeks and play a few more tournaments, Plkov noted that her body still needs rest and that she is done with this season. The Czech tennis player is grateful to everyone who sent her messages of support and has a strong motivation to show her full potential in the coming seasons.

Recovery process

At the moment, her body needs rest, and the experienced tennis player hopes to be as dominant again as she was at some stages of her career.

We know how important it is for a tennis player to stop when he feels that his body cannot handle the extra effort. The most important thing is for the body to fully recover, because if that is not the case, you really cannot perform at your maximum.

Fans nostalgically remember her performances when she was world number 1.

We'll see if Karolna Plkov can shine again on the tennis courts and show that she still has the potential for great success.
