No. 3 seed Coco Gauff has just won her maiden title at the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan after completing a 6-4 7-5 win over sixth-seeded Jessica Pegula in an all-American final.
Gauff, 21, made a better start, claiming an early break and opening a 4-1 lead. While Pegula managed to come back and even the first set to four games apiece, the 21-year-old remained unfazed as she served out the ninth game to go 5-4 up before breaking the No. 6 seed in the 10th game to bag the opener.
After losing the first set in a heartbreaking way, Pegula bounced back by earning back-to-back breaks at the start of the second set and opening a 3-0 lead. Down by two breaks, Gauff instantly responded with back-to-back breaks on her own.

Still, Pegula refused to go away and earned another break in the seventh game and then served out the eighth game to open a 5-3 lead. However, even that wasn't enough for the 31-year-old to seal the second set as the third-seeded American took the next four games to overturn the deficit and get the job done in two sets.
Gauff has now won both Beijing and Wuhan
During the Asian swing, China hosts two WTA 1000 tournaments - Beijing and Wuhan. Last year, the American tennis star lifted her maiden Beijing title after beating Karolina Muchova in the final. Now, the 21-year-old is only the second player to have both Beijing and Wuhan.
Overall, Gauff now has 11 titles in her collection.
