The arrival of LIV Golf changed a lot in the world of golf. While we have been following the PGA Tour and its dominance in this sport for years, the Saudis decided to invest large sums of money and try to shake up the historically famous and leading tour.
Arriving on the golf scene, LIV executives immediately invested huge amounts of money and offered incredible figures to players to join the project. While a number of stars agreed to such offers, such as DeChambeau, Koepka, Mickelson and Rahm, there are many who said no.
Currently the best player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, is part of the PGA Tour and the question is whether the 29-year-old would accept an offer from the Saudi-backed tour.
In May of this year, the American clearly rejected the possibility of joining LIV, stressing that he remains loyal to the PGA Tour and that he plans to end his career on the prestigious tour.
Kolt Knost reacts
Kolt Knost, a well-known face in the world of golf, also believes that Scheffler will remain on the PGA Tour even if LIV offers him a whopping $500 million. His desire is to stay in America, be close to his family and play major tournaments.
I mean, like Scottie Sheffler, I mean, what are you going to offer? Knost said.
You can offer him $500 million. Hed be like, Nah, Im good. I like being in America. I like being able to get home to my family. I play the tournaments I want and Im competing as the best in the world every single week.'
Scheffler, currently the world No. 1, has already made huge money in his career, but some still doubt that LIV Golf's record figure could change his mind. Apparently, the American golfer has no intention of joining LIV and is focused on dominating the PGA Tour and breaking existing records.
