The latest wave of WWE departures wasnt about trimming the fat on the companys budget it was about clearing space for people they do believe in.
Wes Lee, Stevie Turner, Drako Knox, Jamar Hampton, Jin Tala, Haze Jameson, Summer Sorrell, and Brayden BJ Ray were all recently cut from WWE. Kylie Rae had already confirmed her ID contract wouldnt be renewed, and Zayda Steel made it known she chose not to re-sign. But according to WWE insiders, this round of exits wasnt tied to financials. Bryan Alvarez explained X Saturday, explaining exactly why these names were let go.
This isnt about cost-cutting. Its about performance. WWEs current developmental system doesnt reward long-term potential it demands fast results and visible growth. If youre not viewed as a future main roster player, youre gone.
The company has over 130 people in developmental and continues bringing in new talent regularly. So unless someone is standing out and climbing fast, theyre simply occupying a spot WWE wants to give to someone else.
Its a cutthroat system and this wont be the last round of names we see vanish from the roster.
Do you think WWEs main roster or out mindset is the right way to handle developmental talent? Or should some performers be given more time to evolve? Sound off in the comments below.
