Jannik Sinner has been the most consistent player on hard courts in the previous two years. His remarkable consistency on hard courts has placed him among the legends of the game.
The Italian enjoyed an extraordinary streak between Cincinnati 2024 and Beijing 2025, advancing to nine straight hard-court ATP finals. Thus, Jannik matched the best streak of hard-court title encounters set by Ivan Lendl between Basel 1981 and Montreal 1983.
The Czechoslovakian did not play too many tournaments on hard during that near two-year stint, preferring carpet surface. However, he still embraced the most impressive streak of the Open era before Mats Wilander ended it in Cincinnati in August 1983.

Interestingly, Sinner kicked off his streak in Cincinnati in 2024. The Italian became the dominant factor on the most common surface, playing in four consecutive Major finals on his favorite surface and entering history books.
Jannik wrapped up the 2024 season with four hard-court titles from five straight finals, having conquered Cincinnati, the US Open, Shanghai and the ATP Finals while losing an epic Beijing title match to Carlos Alcaraz.
The San Candido native defended the Australian Open crown this January and stayed away from hard courts until summer due to his suspension that forced him to skip Indian Wells and Miami.

Sinner reached his seventh straight final on this surface in Cincinnati, retiring against Alcaraz after dropping the opening five games. A couple of weeks later, the Italian chased the US Open title defense against his greatest rival.
The Spaniard overpowered world no. 1 in four sets after a rock-solid performance and lifted his second title in New York. Jannik took a couple of weeks off the court and extended his streak at the ATP 500 event in Beijing.
The 2023 champion went all the way to earn his second trophy in the Chinese capital. More importantly, it was his ninth consecutive hard-court ATP final, joining Lendl on the exclusive list.
Interestingly, hard-court giants, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, could not match these numbers, with the Swiss reaching six finals in a row and the Serb "only" four.

Jannik tried to pass Ivan in Shanghai and defend last year's title. However, his body let him down in brutal conditions, as he retired in the decider against Tallon Griekspoor in the third round, missing a chance to sit at the top.
