Coco Gauff bounced back from a painful Beijing semifinal loss in an absolutely impressive way after annihilating Moyuka Uchijima 6-1 6-0 in her opening Wuhan match.

On Saturday, Gauff suffered one of her biggest losses of the season after Amanda Anisimova thrashed her 6-1 6-2 in the Beijing semifinal.

Today, the American tennis star returned to the court and instantly got to business, breaking Uchijima for an early 3-0 lead. In the fourth game, the 91st-ranked Japanese got on the board after holding her service game.

The rest of the match was all Gauff, who won the next nine games to complete her dominant win in just 51 minutes of play. During her win, the third-seeded American posted some impressive stats as she fired five aces, had zero double faults, converted five of her eight break points, and didn't face a single break point.

In the Wuhan round-of-16, the two-time Grand Slam champion will play against either Sorana Cirstea or Zhang Shuai.

Gauff successfully bounces back from the Anisimova defeat

After losing to Anisimova, the 21-year-old kept it as honest as possible and admitted that she was completely outplayed by her rival.

She played well. I felt like I couldnt really have a chance of getting a rhythm out there. But a learning experience for the next time... I mean, shes definitely one of the best out of those Ive played. Yeah, for sure, she and Aryna are tough when theyre playing that level of tennis. I felt like today, no matter what I did, I just couldnt get into the match. So yeah, Im going to take this and learn from it," the American said after her brutal loss to Anisimova.

For Gauff, winning her opening Wuhan match with only one game lost was certainly an ideal-case scenario. Now, the American will look to build on her performance and make a run at the tournament.
