You never know who will show up in AEW next, and they have added another former WWE Superstar to their list.
AEW Dynamite presented a special Title Tuesday edition on October 7, 2025, live from Dailys Place in Jacksonville, Florida. The show featured Mercedes Mone defending her TBS Championship in an open challenge, and fans had no idea who to expect.
Fans were taken off guard as they saw who answered the call, because it was a new face to AEW, but not to pro wrestling fans. Lacey Lane, who was previously known as Kayden Carter in WWE, made her debut for the company. She was released from WWE alongside her tag team partner, Katana Chance, earlier this year.
Lane has wrestled for Tony Khans company before, but only under the Ring of Honor banner. She first appeared on the October 9, 2025, episode of ROH on HonorClub in a dark match against Lena Kross. Her most recent outing came on November 9, 2025, where she faced Mina Shirakawa for the ROH Interim Womens World Television Title at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
The former Kayden Carters appearance on AEW Dynamite marked her first match under the AEW brand. We will have to see what happens next for her, but she was unable to topple The CEO in Dailys Place.
