Danielle Collins reveals she was invited to Caroline Garcia's wedding and really wanted to go, but she had a jury duty date and therefore was prevented from attending the Frenchwoman's special day.

On July 19th, Garcia tied the knot with her long-time partner Borja Duran. The special ceremony took place in Catalonia, Spain.

Before marrying Duran, Garcia announced in May that she would be retiring at some point in 2025. And after taking part in her last French Open, the former world No. 4 took an extended break and focused on her wedding, which was scheduled for July 19th.

On the other side, Collins concluded her Wimbledon campaign on July 5th after losing to Iga Swiatek in the third round. Initially, the American was hoping to stay in Europe for two more weeks. But after an unsuccessful attempt to move her jury date, the 2022 Australian Open finalist had no other choice but to inform Garcia that she wouldn't make it to her special day.

Collins: I got called for jury duty and missed Garcia's wedding

I've been struggling a little bit emotionally (over) the last few days because my plans after Wimbledon were originally to stay in Europe and to go to my good friend Caroline Garcia's wedding. But unfortunately, I got called for jury duty. And I could not get my jury duty date moved. And so I'm missing her wedding because of jury duty," the American tennis player said on The Gay Tennis Podcast.

Here is how it looked during Garcia's special day.

"19-07-2025. Best day of our lives," the 2022 WTA Finals champion captioned her X post when announcing her marriage.
