The final chapter of John Cenas in-ring career now has a name attached to itand its none other than the Ring General himself. WWE has selected GUNTHER to face Cena in whats set to be his farewell match on December 13 at a special Saturday Nights Main Event in Washington, D.C.
Dave Meltzer revealed WWEs internal plans for the event. While a televised storyline tournament may be used to pick Cenas opponent on paper, the outcome is already set behind the scenes.
If thats the plan, its a strong one. Cena built his name as the face of WWE for over a decade, while GUNTHER has earned his spot as one of the most dominant forces of this generation. Their paths couldnt be more different, but their legacies are about to collide.
If WWE sticks to the internal script, GUNTHER vs John Cena will be a one-match showcase on a night built entirely around the legends final bow. This ones shaping up to be a career-defining momentfor both men.
