The 39-year-old from Paris reached sixth place as his best ranking in 2016 and has won 13 ATP titles, as well as putting on a show in every corner of the planet. His farewell tour is sure to be special, with his latest appearances at Roland Garros and the Paris Masters 1000.
On the latest episode of the show 'Sans Filet', top analyst Benoit Maylin wanted to pay tribute to the French champion: "Monfils had a 20-year career, in which he shared all his emotions with us. There are losses that he will never forget such as the US Open semifinal against Djokovic, the three match points against Nishikori at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics or the two match points against Federer in the US Open quarterfinals.
He has never reached a Grand Slam final and has not even won a Masters 1000, but his career has been a splendid novel in which he has been able to excite everyone."
