There is no doubt that Carlos Alcaraz is going through the best season of his entire career, having improved several aspects of the game and having also matured off the court. After a start to the season below expectations, in which he struggled to express his best level and had a drop in motivation also due to the absence of his huge rival Jannik Sinner, the Spanish ace has found his certainties from the spring onwards and has collected one victory after another.
From April until today, the 22-year-old from Murcia has won 50 matches and suffered only three defeats to recover the first position in the world ranking. He was scared at the start of the Tokyo ATP 500 due to an ankle injury, but his shape is improving as the days go by and he has just reached the semifinals in Japan thanks to an outstanding performance against Brandon Nakashima today.
Alcaraz is on fire
The six-time Grand Slam champion didn't face a single break point and gave fans the only spectacular shots, getting his 65th winthis season (he has already equaled his personal best and there are still many tournaments before the end of this year).

During a recent interview with 'La Razon', former Spanish champion and now top analystAlex Corretja expressed all his admiration for his young compatriot: "The truth is that Carlos represents a gift for the world of tennis. It has a unique and natural style, making it thrilling to look at. It's not at all to make you play like him and always smile, because it means that he has a healthy approach to sport. It's no secret that sport also requires sacrifice and suffering, but the kids also have fun while playing and Alcaraz is definitely a source of inspiration."
Carlitos' next opponent in Tokyo will be Casper Ruud, who has played an excellent tournament so far. The Norwegian ace is 4-1 behind in the h2h, but won their last clash at the ATP Finals last year. In the other semifinal, Taylor Fritz will face his compatriot Jenson Brooksby.
