Novak Djokovic has fought with all his might again this year, raising his level in Grand Slam tournaments and becoming the oldest player ever to reach the semifinals in all the Majors within the same season.

The former world No.1 has shown once again why he is considered the best ever, placing third in the ATP Race at 38 despite playing few tournaments this season. The veteran from Belgrade still lifted the 100th title of his legendary career at the Geneva ATP 250, reiterating his intention to continue competing despite having greater difficulties than a few years ago.

In the last two seasons, Nole has perfectly understood how hard it will be for him to increase the number of his Grand Slam titles in front of young champions such as Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who are going through the brightest phase of their careers and are destined to dominate men's tennis for many more years.

Nole's impossible challenge

Meanwhile, Djokovic has confirmed his presence in Shanghai and Athens in the latter part of the season and could also participate in the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin (an event he had missed last year). The Serbian player will also be one of the protagonists of the 'Six Kings Slam' in Saudi Arabia, where he will face the winner of the match between Sinner and StefanosTsitsipas in the semifinals.

In a recent interview with 'Sportklub', former world number 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov was very clear when asked about Novak's future.

"The reign of Alcaraz and Sinner has just begun and will last a long time. Nole is not at the top from a physical point of view and he knows it perfectly. Competing against two such young players in best-of-five sets matches is practically impossible, because they are in their 'prime' unlike Djokovic," explained the Russian.
