Jimmy Connors says he and Bjorn Borg have kept in touch regularly for years, but admits they haven't spoken since the Swedish tennis icon revealed his cancer diagnosis.

In case you missed it, Borg - a former 11-time Grand Slam champion - shared in his autobiography that during a regular checkup in late 2023, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Last year, the Swede had surgery to remove the tumor and he is in remission now. But unfortunately, the 69-year-old was told that he has "sleeping cancer cells" inside his body and that he would need to do tests "every six months" in the future.

Connors, who competed against Borg when they were one of the best in the game, was sad after hearing the news that shocked the entire tennis world.

Connors: I owe Borg a call

"Yeah, I saw that. I talk to him once a month, once every four-five weeks, and I haven't talked to him since I found that out. But I talk to him and Patricia, so I owe him a call to really wish him well because there are a lot of things you can do with that now, and I hope he's caught it in time, and I hope he's feeling good," Connors said on his podcast.

According to the American tennis legend, Borg lived a very a active life before the cancer diagnosis.

"You live life, no matter what. He's never still. I talk to him, he's in Stockholm. I talk to him next time, he's in Ibiza. I talk to him next time, he's in India. He's everywhere. He's non-stop. But he's my buddy, I don't want him going through all that," Connors said.
