World no. 1 Carlos Alcaraz experienced a massive scare in his first match at the ATP 500 event in Tokyo! The Spaniard is facing Sebastian Baez in the first round and injured his left leg in the fifth game of the opening set.
The 22-year-old chased the ball when he suddenly stopped, dropping his racquet and falling to the ground. He felt the pain in his left leg and required a medical timeout.
The six-time Major champion received a heavy bandage on his troubled leg and continued his third duel against the Argentine.
Alcaraz grabbed a break in the first game of the duel and held in game two after issues. Baez held in the third game and pulled the break back at love at1-2 after Carlos' loose backhand.
The Spaniard injured his left leg in the first game of the fifth set. He received a treatment and continued after ten minutes, eager to avoid an early loss and extend his great streak.
