Jessica Pegula, the seventh ranked tennis player in the world, was key for the American team at this year's BJK Cup. Although their team dominated against Great Britain and Kazakhstan, they failed to overcome the last hurdle, i.e. beating Italy in the final of the tournament.
Although such a defeat is difficult, the American players have only positive emotions after this experience, and Pegula especially emphasized the role of the team captain, Lindsay Davenport.
Pegula emphasized that she enjoys playing for Lindsay because she's a funny person, but admits that sometimes her wit is so pronounced that it's hard to hold back the laughter.
Also, Jessica points out that the important thing about Davenport is that she clearly knows what needs to be changed in the game, and in a way that does not hurt or create a feeling of insecurity.

What can we expect in the future?
Having such a leader on the team is certainly a great advantage and the reason why the players are often much more motivated. The question, however, is what will happen in the next edition and who will take over the main role on the American team.

Lindsay proved to be a great person for this role, and it seems that, in addition to Pegula, the other players have only positive experiences with her that they will never forget.
