Brock Lesnars complete demolition of John Cena at WrestlePalooza had fans expecting a major follow-upmaybe even one last comeback story for Cena. Instead, it looks like WWE has slammed the door shut on the rivalry for good.

Bryan Alvarez revealed on Wrestling Observer Live that the WrestlePalooza match was the final chapter in the Lesnar-Cena saga. According to Alvarez, not only was it their last match, but WWE has no intention of having Lesnar serve as Cenas final opponent either.

This news comes after previous reports claimed Cena was originally booked to win the match before WWE pulled a last-minute change. Many fans believed a win over Lesnar would have been the perfect way to set up Cenas final run, but that scenario never materialized.

Instead, Cena was left laid out in brutal fashion, and WWE reportedly has no follow-up plannedno redemption arc, no final victory, no closure. Just a beatdown and an ending with no payoff.

If this really was the last time well ever see Cena face off with The Beast, its a brutal way to go out for one of the companys biggest icons.
