Andy Murray has publicly confirmed that there is no bad blood between him and Emma Raducanu following what happened during his Wimbledon farewell.
After undergoing a minor back surgery, Murray announced he would only play in doubles at 2024 Wimbledon. And for the last tournament of his career, the Briton picked his brother Jamie as his partner for men's doubles, and Raducanu as his mixed doubles partner.
Since the Murray brothers lost in the opening round, Andy was left with only mixed doubles to play. But the former world No. 1 never teamed up with Raducanu after the 22-year-old abruptly withdrew just before their opening match. At the time, the British female tennis player cited a wrist issue as the cause.
On the same day, Murray's mother Judy took to X, where she indirectly called out the WTA star by labeling her move "astonishing." There were also reports indicating that the former three-time Grand Slam champion wasn't happy with the 22-year-old at all.
Murray: I've spoken with Raducanu a couple of times since then and everything is fine
"We exchanged multiple messages since Wimbledon and things were fine after we cleared everything up. It was obviously a pretty emotional time for me and everyone around me, so it was hard, but, like I said, I was really happy with the way that my career finished. I got to play my last match at Wimbledon with my brother. Emma's not someone that beforehand we were communicating all the time or discussing ideas about her game and things like that, so that hasn't changed," the 2013 and 2016 Wimbledon champion told The Times.
When Raducanu first showed up on the Tour, she spoke very highly about Murray on several occasions and even said a couple of times that she would like to one day play mixed doubles with him.
